Emotional Freedom Therapy

If you struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, fears/phobias, allergies, migraines, insomnia, test or performance anxiety, fear of flying, or any other situations that bring stress, EFT may be right for you!

What is the Emotional Freedom Technique?

This integrated psychophysiological approach incorporates elements of cognitive therapy, exposure therapy, and acupressure in the form of finger tapping on specific acupressure points on the body.

Benefits of this technique include:

  • Release and transform uncomfortable emotions like anxiety, sadness, anger, guilt and frustration

  • Identify, explore, and resolve limited thinking, habits, or behavior that are restricting life

  • Gently and appropriately heal the effects of trauma and bothersome memories.

  • Address physical issues and pain in the body

The mechanism behind EFT includes deactivation of the stress and memory centers in the brain (the amygdala and hippocampus) by tapping on specific meridian points. This helps to bring the autonomic nervous system into regulation. It has also been shown to down regulate genes associated with the stress response and up regulate or improve with immune function.

The use of Clinical EFT methods have been validated in research studies and have met formally established criteria for efficacy by the American Psychological Association (APA).
